I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
